Question: “I’m interested in buying property on St. Croix, but it’s difficult for me to travel right now. How can you help me?”
Chris’ Answer:
This is no problem. We have sold properties to people sight unseen! We can go to the property and take photos of anything you would like to see more closely than the photos in MLS or Zillow listing. A walk through video or a Face Time call can give you a better idea of the layout, and help answer any questions. We can also do photos of the neighborhood, or a video of the drive to the house so that you can better imagine what it would be like to live there.
We close with attorneys in the U. S. Virgin Islands. It is not uncommon for buyers and sellers to not be on island for the closing. All of the paperwork can be handled remotely. Some documents can be signed electronically, some, like mortgage documents (which require physical signatures) via overnight mail and some can be handled on your behalf by your attorney using a limited Power of Attorney. Sometimes the first time new home owners actually see their new home in person is when we take them to it and hand them the keys!
